feeling frugal?

Well Limerick is the frugal find of the day over at the frugal ereader. It has its own pretty post and everything. -->See it here.

Also, check out this review of Shimmerspell by the gorgeous Anna @BookReviewsByAnna. She spelled my name wrong, but that's okay, lol. Enjoy!

Google Alert Madness

Check out this google alert I received Saturday:

phone sex » Blog Archive » sex: Shimmerspell: A Faerie Tale Girl ...
sex: Shimmerspell: A Faerie Tale Girl Novella, #1 (YA Paranormal / Urban Fantasy ). Posted on 23rd July 2011 in Uncategorized, XXX Love and Sex ...
phonesex.eye12.com/.../sex-shimmerspell-a-faerie-tale-girl-no...

I have to say that this is both funny and disturbing to me. Shimmerspell is a young adult novella with zero sex in it, so I have no earthy idea how it has become linked to a sex shop. I mean, what could it be? Does reading it inspire you to call a 900 number? Do you need to smoke a cigarette when it's over? I'd like to pretend that the person who posted my book on that site was just another satisfied reader, lol.

To my fellow writers, have you ever received anything strange like that from google alerts?

Author Interview

Tamara Rose Blodgett, the uber talented author of Death Whispers and A Pearl Savage, interviewed me for the Thursday Focus Interview segment of her blog. Let me just say her blog is really nice and she seems so at ease on it, whereas I royally suck at all things social. Why must I be so awkward? :/

Anyway, here's the linky: http://t.co/7e4h8za

Lore: A Faerie Tale Girl Prequel has been published.

Hopefully, it'll be live on Amazon sometime tomorrow. It's a short story, 3500 words/210 kindle locations. I have to tell you guys upfront that it will be priced at $.99 on Amazon. I know that sucks for a single short story, but Amazon won't let me go any lower.

Good News Alert: You can download the ebook in various formats for free if you get it from smashwords. Here's the link:
http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/74363. I really hope you guys like Lauren's story. Here's the cover & blurb:

Long before Lauren escaped to the mortal realm and fell in love with Dermott, she was simply known as Lore, the daughter of Morgen Le Fae. This short tale covers the role she played in the betrayal and murder of the Lady of the Lake.

ETA: It's available on Amazon. That was fast. :)

Author of the Day

Kathleen Valentine, author of Each Angel Burns, has featured me as the Author of the Day on her blog, Parlez Moi Blog. So head on over there and read the advice I offer to other aspiring writers. I promise it's short and sweet.

Also, Shimmerspell is still free on Amazon, so pick up a copy because it's uh ... well, it's free. *shrugs* And the sequel, Limerick, is only $.99. I'd like to think they're pretty awesome reads.

Hope everyone's having a great Saturday. It's raining where I'm at which is a good thing for farmers since we've been under a drought (I think), but a bad thing for me, since I have a hard time staying awake whenever it rains. :-)

Lore Cover Reveal

As you know, I plan to release a short story about Lauren next month. So far it looks like I'll be finished with it early, so you might be able to read it pretty soon, on smashwords that is. Here's the blurb and cover I came up with for it. It reminds me of Dany Stormborn on Game of Thrones, who I think is stunning. What do you think?

Before Lauren came to the mortal realm and fell in love with Dermott, she was simply Lore, the daughter of Morgen Le Fae.

Tether Cover

I don't really have too much to talk about today. I just wanted to show you guys the book cover I came up with for Tether, the new paranormal romance novel I'm working on. I'm so excited about this story and looking at the cover helps me focus. Let me know what you think.

Btw, Shimmerspell is still free on Amazon, so if you like fun YA books about faeries, make sure to check it out.

Shimmerspell is free on Amazon + Reviews

Hello my internet friends. The first thing I need to tell you is that Shimmerspell is a freebie on Amazon (currently #48 in the free store), so be sure to pick it up while it lasts. Second, I have two new reviews, one for each book actually. Excerpts are below.

Dottie @ Tink's Place on Shimmerspell:
"Shimmerspell was fast paced fun trip into the land of faery, and it gets better. There's a struggle going on and Jensen is stuck in the middle. If you want a quick little read that's just the tip of the iceberg, pick up Shimmerspell, you won't be disappointed, and there's more stories to come. Paranatural story lovers will want to read this one, interesting and fun take on the land of faery. Great for an afternoon pick me up!! Kimberly is blessed by the cover goddess as well, lovely cover! 4.5 out of 5 fairy kisses. Excellent read and I'm looking forward to the next novella is the series."

Jennifer @ The Book Nympho on Limerick:
"Jensen is really starting to grow into her powers and learning that everything and everyone for that matter, is not what they appear to be. I can’t wait to see what she faces next. I recommend this novella to anyone that likes Fae YA books."

Review of Limerick & Giveaway

I just wanted to let you guys know that the first review of Limerick is in. Here's what Lacey (The Page Turner) had to say:

"I really enjoyed this book, reading Limerick was like a shot of adrenaline, it really kept me chipper in my stressful times with school and life. Reading this book took me to another world where I was able to put reality aside and emerse myself in a magical world in iteself. It was action packed, emotional and fun, what more can you ask for?! I loved that we were able to see Jensen change, seeing her become more of a stronger character. We learn more about her and what she never knew about herself. The only thing I was sad about was the end, this book went by way too quickly, I loved being emersed in this world and being sucked back out was a bit unbalanced. But It definately is a book I would recommend to anyone, there is nothing to prevent a younger reader from reading this book."

How sweet is that? She gave it 4 stars on goodreads/4 and a half on her blog. Reading her review seriously drained all my worries about how Limerick would be received. Then I checked B&N and saw that a reader had given it 5 stars on there. :)

Now, I can honestly say I feel confident enough to start working on Triquetra, the third and final book in the series, as well as a new vampire series I'm planning. I'm actually not sure which one will come first. Ideally, I'd like to start both, but I'm worried about the voices blending, which would be bad. Very, very bad.

Oh well, on to other news. I'm thinking about starting a new blog series dedicated to paranormal/fantasy novellas and shorts I like. I'll let you know about that later. Also, I'm giving away 50 ebook copies of Limerick on Librarything, so if you'd like to snatch it up for free, you have until July 11th to request it. http://www.librarything.com/er/giveaway/list

And that about wraps everything up. I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. :)

Limerick is live now!

Limerick is available on Amazon for $.99, so be sure to check that out. I personally think it's a really good book and the pacing is better than Shimmerspell. Oh and here's the book trailer I made for it.

And once again, thank you to everyone who's been supportive and enthusiastic about the Faerie Tale Girl series. It really means a lot to me!

I just clicked the magic button ...

...and published Limerick today. So naturally, I'm a complete wreck now. I guess a book really is like a baby for me. I've molded it for as long as I could to make it the best it could be. Now I'm letting it go, hoping no one thinks it sucks, lol. I really hope it lives up to your expectations.

Thank you to everyone who has shown interest in the Faerie Tale Girl Series. And to show my appreciation, I'm planning something special for you guys. Details will be posted tomorrow.

Jensen hoped she’d never need Shimmerspell again. But now someone is stalking her, someone who claims to be the Lady of the Lake. And to make matters worse, witches and dragons have come out to play. And Jensen must figure out how to harness her power and accept her destiny before she ends up losing everyone she loves.
